BIANCONI for Venini Pezzato Glass Vase 07s
Pezzato means mottled in Italian. Bianconi is famous for its colorful designs using different techniques. The Pezzato Vase is one of the most characteristic objects that Fulvio Bianconi designed for Venini. He used the tessellé process, an old technique used in antiquity. The production takes place in several steps: colored glass pieces are placed on a plate and melted. Then, a colorless glass blank is rolled on the plate to transfer the pattern into the mould. Finally, the object is further treated with tools or blown. Venini had a similar design in its range from the 1920s, but Bianconi took up this motif and gave it a modern design.
